Masaba
Gupta studied fashion designing at Mumbai’s SNDT Women’s University.
After her graduation in 2009, she took admission in short courses of Apparel Manufacture and Design.
Gupta started working as an independent fashion designer a few years ago. She
has launched her own label titled Masaba. She
represents her brand at Lakme
Fashion Week’s Gen Next show
every season. Her clothes are a blend of traditional Indian aesthetic and
modern colors. She gives high preference to lightweight fabrics. Bollywood actresses like Bipasha
Basu and Shilpa Shettylove Masaba’s
fashion accessories. She won several awards such as 2012’sL’Oreal
Paris Femina Award, and 2013’s PETA
India’s Most Talented Designer Award.
Bibhu
Mohapatra
Over the
years, Bibhu Mohapatra has been famous for his amazing
fashion accessories, prom dresses, and footwear. He was born in
Rourkela, and studied economics at a private university in the US. Mohapatra
had much interest in fashion designing. He moved to New
York City to
study at Fashion
Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of 1997’s Critics’ Award for Best
Evening Wear Designer of the Year. He has showcased his designs at
Paris and London fashion shows. He is mostly famous for his evening dresses and stylish handbags.
Ritu
Kumar
Ritu
Kumar launched her label in 1969. Since then, she has gained global
recognition. Without any doubt, she is one of the top fashion designers of
India. Kumar is mostly known for her fine Indian fabrics.
She has her outlets in more than 40 Asian cities. A true pioneer in the
industry, Kumar has received awards like France’s Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres,
and India’s Padma Shri
Award.
