Taking a look at who are the best and greatest actors

The ranking of actors is frequently based on the average box office gross, their popularity level, and of course the number of hit movies they have given during their career. At the same time, it is true that some of the movies have failed to reflect the immense acting skills of the actors. They have instead been spotted playing minor roles, but this is not countable since their success graph is very high. More than just a reflection of stars, this list puts together brief information about their background and personal life. So, let us begin the countdown.

Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp is really a man to die for. He is not only successful but also quite handsome and charming. Forgetting for some time how much I am in love with this actor, let me tell you that in 1980 Depp began as a teen idol from the TV series named 21 Jump Street. After working on the small screen for a couple of years, he then moved to the big screen and made appearances in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, and Public Enemies. This American actor and musician was born in 1963, and has been the winner of the Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor. He rose to limelight with his excellent performance in Ed Wood. By 1993, Johnny kept on receiving critical and commercial acclaims. His work in the Benny & Joon, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and Arizona Dream has been highly admired all over the world.

Tom Hanks.

Tom Hanks was born in 1956. This marvelous American actor has given many hits during his career. The movies he has been a part of include Splash, Big, Turner & Hooch, Philadelphia, Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, and Cast Away etc. He is said to be one of the highest grossing North American stars. He was much interested in filmmaking too, so Hanks collaborated with director Steven Spielberg on Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, and The Terminal like projects. He fell in love with actress Samantha Lewes and the two married in 1978.

Jack Nicholson.

Jack Nicholson has performed in Hollywood for about 60 years. During this time, he played the variety of characters. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor twice. Nicholson’s most memorable films are One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, As Good as It Gets, Terms of Endearment, Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, and Reds. He long remained in the relationship with Sandra Knight and the two tied the knot in 1962.

Robert De Niro.

Robert De Niro is one of most exceptional Hollywood males. He has been starred in more than 100 movies. Some of his top films are The Godfather Part II, Bang the Drum Slowly, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Cape Fear, The Deer Hunter, and Penny Marshall's Awakenings. He is the son of Virginia Admiral and Robert De Niro Sr. Robert married Diahnne Abbott in 1976, and the two have a son Raphael.

Leonardo DiCaprio.

The lovely and gorgeous Leonardo DiCaprio began with supporting roles and was still noticed in series like Growing Pains, and Santa Barbara. At his 19, DiCaprio got fame from the film This Boy’s Life. Later on in 1997, the release of all-time favorite Titanic opened the doors of endless work opportunities for this handsome guy. Since then he has been a part of blockbusters including Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, The Departed, Revolutionary Road, and others. This American actor well-portrayed Howard Hughes in The Aviator (2004) and has brought home many awards. Currently, he is running his own production house named Appian Way Productions. He is the only child of Irmelin (née Indenbirken) and George DiCaprio.
